Friday, June 5, 2026 we had an awesome virtual session by Congressional Defense Fellow Dr. Desmond Burgess from Capitol Hill stressing the importance of relationships between Military bases and their surrounding local and regional communities. He is the author of the leadership book If It Works… Keep Doing It.  

On Friday, May 8, 2026, we had a great Presentation by Cyber Warfare Instructor Stephen Dangel, who warned us ‘Don’t Take the Bait‘ & gave us a Social Engineering Awareness Session.

Our GASB Updates are always enlightening, & Friday, April 3, 2026 was no exception! Thanks to CLA’s Chris Goeman, CPA, CGFM for presenting on 3 new GASB Pronouncements – Statements 103 (Financial Reporting Model Improvements), 104 (Disclosure of Certain Capital Assets), & 105 (Subsequent Events). What is an Efficiency & Effectiveness Audit and How Do You Do Them? A very relevant topic for everyone on Friday, March 6, 2026.  Thanks to Alfredo Mycue & Sonya Etheridge for packing a lot of great knowledge into this presentation.
Great presentation on Friday, February 6, 2026 by Melanie T. McCoy, CEO of Supply SA (www.supply-sa.org) which connects public agencies and local businesses to streamline procurement and build a stronger regional economy. Best of all, their services are free!

Thanks to TWC CFO Chris Nelson (right) & Alfredo Mycue, Co-Founder ReEngine Consulting (left), for a great presentation on a different way to determine Value Realized in the Government. These two gentlemen led a thought-provoking discussion with real-world examples to redefine how we can best serve our ‘customers.’ 

We had a wonderfully enlightening and inspiring presentation by Hon. Lucy Adame-Clark, Bexar County Clerk, on Friday, August 1, 2025! It is amazing what types of assistance their office provides! 2024-2025 Meetings

We enjoyed an awesome presentation about Via Metropolitan Transit on Thursday, February 13, 2025 – did you know that they provide the following services in our community:
– Bus service including downtown circulator service
– Paratransit service for riders with disabilities
– VIA Prímo high-frequency service
– VIA Link ride-sharing service
– Vanpool service for commuters
– Park & Ride Service to events

2023-2024 Meetings

On October 12, 2023, AGA San Antonio presented Phillip Ashley, CPA, CGFM, Associate Deputy Comptroller for Tax Administration, Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts

We received a basic understanding of  the main duties of the Comptroller’s office, with an emphasis on how it intersects with other levels of government.

On September 14, 2023, Chris Goeman, CGFM, CPA provided a GASB Update

On the latest GASB statements scheduled to be implemented this year & has come back yearly for additional updates to keep us current!
