About the Event

Dr. Stacy Y. Evans, Director, OLLU

POSTPONED FROM Friday, September 18, 2026 to Friday, January 8, 2027, features a presentation from Dr. Stacy Y. Ybarra, Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU), titled “Practical Agentic AI for Financial Managers.”

The session will cover how agentic AI differs from conventional chatbots, and how financial managers can use AI tools such as Claude and Copilot in Excel to reconcile budget-to-actual data. Dr. Ybarra will also walk through drafting an audit-ready, plain-language narrative (such as a Citizen-Centric Report), building a simple, reusable AI agent, and comparing available AI tools. No prerequisites are necessary to attend.

This will be a hands-on, interactive session. If your workplace policies allow, we encourage you to bring a laptop so you can follow along and work directly with the AI tools being demonstrated.

Please note: Dr. Ybarra will do her best to cover all the material within the allotted 1-hour presentation window, but given the amount of content, the session may run a few minutes over. We appreciate your flexibility and encourage you to plan accordingly if you have a hard stop.
